The other day Cara said to me “Mom. I felt Jesus with me at school today!”
This is something that I have asked my girls pretty much all of their lives, especially when they come home from school: Did you see Jesus today?
Yes. I am confident that in the middle of our public school district, Jesus is. He is so close and so very present, as he is in every place.
This specific day I didn’t even have to ask the question. Cara couldn’t wait for me to get home from work to tell me about her experience.
She proceeded to tell me that in her World Cultures class at school they were getting ready to start a unit on Egypt.
The teacher asked the class “What do you think of when you think of Egypt?”
She wrote a few words down, and then she raised her hand and waited for her turn to share what she wrote.
“Jesus, the Bible, Moses and Joseph” she said.
Continuing to tell me her story, she said “And Mom, as soon as I said Jesus, I felt him there with me. He was there, Mom. I could feel him!”
It reminded me of something so simple yet so profound:
Say the name of Jesus.
Just say his name. Wherever you are. Even if it is but a whisper. Remind your soul of this one thing. Jesus. He really is right there with you.
