I first began reading these pages expecting Jocelyn to teach me about children, how they think, and how we adults can impart our wisdom to them. How surprised and delighted I was when Jocelyn did not attempt to teach me anything. Instead, she carried me into her world where she experiences the hearts of children. With her words, Jocelyn took my heart in her hand and carried me into tiny, innocent hearts—a place I have never been before. She took me where she lives and loves. She let me see wonder in precious eyes, and then, through those eyes. I found myself not knowing if I was looking through children’s eyes or through Jocelyn’s eyes. From there I peered at wonders too intimate, too pure for me. I wanted to blush. Now I understand better what Jesus meant when He said, “These children have angels constantly beholding the face of the Father.”

At 73, I don’t think too much anymore about kids, even though I have 3 kids, 9 grandkids, and 3 great grandkids. The days of training have passed me by. However, I know what it is like to go through challenging times with your kids. My wife and I went through a time of darkness as our kids were trying to find their way. Thankfully, they rose out of the darkness of those days and are living an amazing life. We were helped immensely by books written by Dr. James Dobson back in the 70s and 80s. This is a new day and we need new voices that speak to this generation. I am so thankful for Jocelyn’s passion and compassion for this generation of parents and kids. Jocelyn has tapped into some great secrets that will help this generation. She is so right when she writes the words, “The secrets of the kingdom are hidden in children. My first recollection of Jocelyn was in 2008 at an Outreach at Chambersburg High School. It was the smile attached to her heart that I will never forget. She is called to children. It is not a stepping stone, but a call, filled with heart and anointing. When you talk of children, she lights up; she knows them and treats them as they are mature adults. They are spirits who are alive, whose bodies have not matured yet, and she lives to let them be children, but especially, children of God in residence. I endorse her heart and her anointing. The Kingdom needs this book.
